Seeking Young Chicago Screenwriters
“Around the World”
Seeking screenwriters in Chicago for independent feature film, working title “Around the World.”
The story follows a young girl traveling around the world. A good looking, cool, young woman, who easily meets and connects with other young people, she travels to 3 different cities around the world. She meets other young people, experiences foreign cities and places, makes friends and has adventures, has some romantic experiences (some good, some bad). This is a film about the experiences young people have travelling, about a girl who leaves home for a reason, and the audience does not find out what that reason is until she returns home at the end of the film.
We are looking for screenwriters to work with to develop this script. Particularly good opportunity for young women writers who have travelled, and can write great dialogue and characters that feel like young people now. But screenwriters of any age/gender/experience are invited to reach out to us! Please submit a few sample pages for this film, with one story, event, party, adventure, experience, or relationship in a foreign city this girl experiences. You can draw from your own experiences or encounters if you like. We are looking for a writer (or writers) to capture the experience of being young and travelling.
Writer should be able to meet twice a week to talk about the script and review progress. Pays $500/mo, looking to complete within 2 mo.
